We have been reading different versions of the folktale, Stone Soup. Next week, we will be making our own version of stone soup. If you have already signed up for items to participate-thank you. If you have not-please sign up asap, and send items with your child on Monday. Click on the link below to see items that we still are in need of. www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0f4da9a728a0f49-stone1 We DO NOT have SPELLING/homework packets or GEO's this week or next week, due to the short holiday week. We will be reading Molly's Pilgrim next week, and briefly talk about Ellis Island, and immigration to America. We will have a review sent home Monday, and a Math Test Tuesday morning. We have started Rocket Math, our multiplication fluency program. The students are loving it, and working hard on learning facts. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. I am grateful that I get to come to work, and see your children every day!

Hello Third Grade Parents,
we are finally enjoying some beautiful weather at recess! November is here, and the year is flying by. I think we have all fully recovered from the candy comas we had after Halloween. In all seriousness the students had a very productive week despite the long nights, and very fun days. The students finished off fractions last week. The tests will be sent home this week. If students have a CORRECTION SHEET attached, it will be due back the following week (see date on paper). We will now start multiplication! Your child should have brought the new vocabulary words home. The students had seven words to work on at home tonight. We continued the same story from last week in Wonders, and we are working in small groups during reading rotations. The students welcomed a new student last week, her name is Sara. We are very excited to have her join us. We are starting Project Zoo. This is a lab from district that was made with the Phoenix Zoo. The students will be bringing home some little project cards, that are optional at home. This will add to what we have already learned about animal adaptations. I enjoyed meeting with all of you during conference week. We are only three months into the year, and these students have already shown a tremendous amount of growth and perseverance. I am so proud of each and every one of them! |
